The SSDEC Excellence in Education Award, Program Staff has been bestowed upon an extraordinary individual, Vivian Harris, in recognition of her exemplary contributions and her unwavering commitment to ensuring the brightest possible futures for our students in South Slave.
Vivian, who initially served as the Principal of Lutsel K’e Dene School, has always gone above and beyond in her role. Her dedication to the success and well-being of all staff, students, and community members has set a new standard for educational leadership. Vivian’s approach to education is holistic and innovative, constantly finding ways to support and enhance the educational journey of every student.
Beyond her professional achievements, Vivian has been the heart and soul of her community, acting as a taxi driver, a trusted support, a confidant, a leader, a friend, and sometimes even a banker. Her commitment to putting others above herself and being there for everyone at any time has truly made a difference.
Now, as the SSDEC Literacy Coordinator, Vivian continues to impact our educational community, bringing her passion for learning and student success to even more schools and students across South Slave.
