Three Feathers arrives on DVD in time for the holidays

English-only version of film now available, with multilingual version to come

FORT SMITH, NT – The South Slave Divisional Education Council’s award-winning film Three Feathers is now available on DVD.

Directed by Carla Ulrich (Ghost Town, Stolen Sisters) and based on the graphic novel of the same name by Richard Van Camp (The Lesser Blessed, Spirit, Moccasin Square Gardens), Three Feathers explores the power of grace and restorative justice in one Northern community.

Three Feathers was filmed in Fort Smith, Northwest Territories, and is the first movie shot in four languages – English, nēhiyawēwin (Cree), Dëne Dédlıné Yatıé (Chipewyan), and Dene Yatıé (South Slavey). The film stars David Burke, Joel Evans, Dwight Moses, and Henry and Eileen Beaver. The initial DVD release features the English version of the film. A multi-language version will be released in 2020.

“We’re excited to make Three Feathers available to home viewers,” says Brent Kaulback, producer of Three Feathers. “As we have continued to show the film at film festivals around the world, we regularly receive requests from teachers, Indigenous organizations and movie lovers to purchase it on DVD. Now we can finally make the Three Feathers DVD available for home and classroom viewing.”

Three Feathers won Best Short at the Canadian International Faith & Family Film Festival and was awarded the Best Narrative Short award by the NWT Professional Media Association

The Three Feathers DVD is available from the South Slave Divisional Education Council for $30. The DVD features the English version of the film, as well as several special features, including the original trailer and interviews with the cast and crew.
